People have asked how I decide what score to give movies when I review them. Here's how I choose what score to give them between 1-5. 1-This is for movies that I really did not like watching. Time I wish I could get back. Movies I think are not worth anyone watching. 2-This is for movies that weren't the best but they weren't the worst. I was okay with sitting through them once but I wouldn't watch them again. 3-This is for movies I enjoyed. They're good. I'd love to see them again. 4-This is...

I love listening to Christmas music on the radio. Even though it's just the beginning of November, the music seems to transport me back to the innocence and joy of childhood. I can't help but sing along and, yes, bop around to the music. Even though I love it all year, there's something more special about listening to it closer to Christmas.

I get so excited about seeing the new Christmas movies. It's not that I don't have enough old movies that I love, I just love new stories. I think the networks have mistaken quantity and quality. I saw one movie I loved, one I didn't care for, and the rest were just average. I'd rather have half the movies and have them knock my socks off. What do you think?

It’s officially August and Christmas In July is over. I don’t mind admitting that it makes me sad when the around the clock movies end. I’m grateful that Hallmark is still doing Thursday and Friday night movies but it’s not the same. The constant movies makes it feel like a bit of the Christmas spirit is with us and it takes a little less work to feel it. We just have to wait 3 months and they’ll be back. In the meantime we’ll watch the movies we have and keep spreading that...

Well, today started the Christmas in July movies. I am ecstatic! There’s so many movies that were new last winter that I only saw once so it’s almost like seeing a new one. Add to that Hallmark is showing two new movies. It’s so exciting. I know a lot of people think enjoying Christmas in July is weird. They probably want to buy us a calendar. I don’t care. The joy of Christmas can be felt and shared all year long. I hope you all enjoy these summer movies. Until we meet again.......

Music is beautiful but Christmas music is especially beautiful. They’re songs you hear throughout your lifetime. They come around once a year for a month or two and bring the emotions attached to so many memories. Innocent times, happy times, and magical times. For me Christmas music includes secular and church songs. Songs I played on the piano, songs sung with the choir, and songs sung while caroling. There’s a certain childhood joy I feel when I hear Christmas songs. It puts a smile on...

Hallmark had their first new movie Saturday. I’m not going to lie, I was getting more and more excited waiting for it. It didn’t disappoint. While I love the classics and watching movies over and over again, it’s fun to have new movies. There will be plenty this season and I can’t wait for each one but I have mixed feelings. I know each year there will be new movies to love but that means some old ones will go away. I miss movies like Comfort And Joy and Christmas On Chestnut Street....

A newer holiday tradition is The Elf On The Shelf. Every morning I’d see posts of “Sprinkles” The Elf and her love notes and I’d think, ugh. They were so saccharine they drove me crazy. As a result, I decided to seek revenge on my friends. I bought my own elf and named him Naughty. I took pictures of him snorting cocoa, throwing money at Barbie on a stripper pole, buying drugs, etc. Much to my combined delight and chagrin, people loved them. Apparently we’re friends for a reason. Lol....

I’m spending my time waiting for new Christmas movies by watching some of my favorite Halloween movies. Yes, they’re from Disney channel and I don’t care that people judge me. I love them. To me Halloween is about imagination and magic and doesn’t have to be about fear. I’m enjoying people posting photos on social media of fall foliage. I’m also enjoying pictures of the snow up north. My friends who live there aren’t as excited. Living in Florida I almost never get to see foliage...

As I finished my Christmas cards i began thinking (I know that’s a scary thought). Why don’t many people send cards anymore? The only answer I could come up with was social media. Friends used to send photo cards of theirchildren, or put photos in cards, and some even still wrote letters. I wonder if people figure we see their children online and we’re connected all year so it isn’t necessary. I don’t agree. Mostpeople don’t share a lot of personal things. There’s tons of...
